A fire caused extensive damage to a Lincoln home Wednesday morning.

Flames were visible when Lincoln Fire and Rescue arrived at the house at 611 S. 30th St. about 7, said Deputy Chief Bruce Sellon.

A man and woman got out safely, but the fire caused about $120,000 damage to the house and $110,000 damage to its contents, Sellon said. Most of the damage was to the kitchen area and back of the house.

Authorities were still investigating the cause Wednesday evening, he said.

The Red Cross was working with the occupants to find them a place to stay, Sellon said. The house probably won't be habitable for several months.

According to the Lancaster County Assessor's Web site, the owners are Douglas Smith and Lynn Murray.
