The Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau has created new event packages to attract visitors to the Capitol City over the holiday season.

And the CVB is urging residents to “Think Lincoln for the Holidays” by inviting friends and relatives to city events, attractions, restaurants and shopping.

“We’re asking residents to be ambassadors for our community to help us attract visitors,” said Jeff Maul, CVB executive director, at a press conference Friday.

And the CVB is helping by providing a listing of events and event-lodging packages at its Web site, lincoln.org.

Maul said an example of the packages being developed is “Preview, Pillow, Parade.”

The package includes the Parade Preview Night festivities at Pershing Center Dec. 5, lodging at the Cornhusker Marriott and VIP seating for the Star City Holiday Parade Dec. 6. The package price is $79 (plus tax, double occupancy).

More information on parade is available at lincoln.ne.gov and www.starcityholidayparade.org.

Maul said the CVB is kicking off the concept over the holidays and plans to continue offering money-saving packages throughout the year.

The listing of events on the CVB Web site will include visual and performing arts, athletics, special holiday programs and schedules for local attractions and museums.
