He's an Oklahoma fan living in Nebraska.
A little guy. A sports nut who dreams Sooner.
Thirteen-year-old Jacob Storm can't help himself.
"Jacob didn't really have a choice," Jeremy Marteney says.
Jeremy is Jacob's stepdad.
And Jeremy has loved the Sooners since he was a boy in DuBois delivering dog food to Oklahoma kennels with his truck-driving dad.
Jeremy was barely 20 when he met Jacob's mom.
She had small two daughters and 1-year-old Jacob.
Jacob was born without part of a chromosome. He'd always be small. Always be fragile.
And, apparently, always love OU football.
He spent hours on the couch with Jeremy watching Sooner games.
Later, he'd cover his ears when his Norris classmates yelled "Go Huskers!" on Fridays before game days.
He still wears his Adrian Peterson jersey to school as often as it's clean.
A few years ago, Jeremy wrote Bob Stoops a letter letting him know how much Jacob loved his team.
Stoops met them before the Boise State bowl game.
Jeremy has a photo. He's holding Jacob, his face buried in his dad's shoulder.
"He didn't say a word," says Jeremy, "he might not have even looked up."
But from then on, Stoops was his friend.
"There's Bob," he'd say every time he saw the coach on the sideline.
Jacob's mom and Jeremy aren't together anymore, but Jacob still lives with his sisters and his little half-brother and his stepdad in Hickman.
He calls him Dad.
Dad takes him hunting and fishing. Dad watches his Special Olympics basketball and baseball games.
Dad catches the Nerf football when Jacob flings it his way, which is all the time.
They'll be on the couch tonight at home, wearing red.
A perfectly matched pair of Sooner fans deep in Huskerland.
