A 51-year-old dog owner Thursday pleaded guilty and was fined on charge in connection to her pit bull attacking a 10-year-old boy a month ago.
Lisa A. Burton, 3616 Huntington Ave., was fined $100 for having a dog at large and $50 for no dog license.
On June 3, Burton was walking the 10-month-old dog, King, near her home about 3:20 p.m. The dog was on a leash, but got loose and ran after a boy riding his bike in an alley nearby.
The boy tried to shoo the dog away, but it knocked him off his bicycle, biting him on his face, head and arms.
In court Thursday, Christine Loseke of the City Attorney's Office described the attack as serious and said the boy needed 30 stitches. She said the dog bit someone in October, too.
