A 10-year-old boy riding his bicycle was attacked Wednesday afternoon by a pit bull that got away from its owner, Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said.
A 51-year-old dog owner was cited after her pit bull puppy attacked a 10-year-old boy on Wednesday.
Lisa A. Burton, 3616 Huntington Ave., was ticketed for having a dog at large and no license, said Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood.
Burton was walking her 10-month-old dog, King, near her home around 3:20 p.m. The boy was riding his bike in an alley nearby.
The dog was leashed at the time, but got loose from its owner and ran after the boy.
The boy tried to shoo the dog away, but it knocked the boy off his bicycle, biting him on his face, head and arms.
The boy's mother took him to BryanLGH Medical Center West, and his injuries required 30 stitches.
Animal Control investigated the case and took custody of the dog.
