A Lincoln police officer was assaulted by a shoplifting suspect Monday night, police said.

The suspect, 18-year-old Jordinn Wilson, was leaving Victoria's Secret at SouthPointe Pavilions with a 17-year-old companion when officers tried to apprehend her, Lincoln police said in a news release. She was handcuffed and taken to a police cruiser, where she kicked an officer and caused his knee to become hyperextended, police said.

Wilson also is accused of kicking the window and door of the officer's cruiser, damaging the vehicle and a backseat camera.

She was arrested on suspicion of assault on a police officer, criminal mischief, theft and resisting arrest, police said.
