A 42-year-old woman suffered severe burns after a Milford man sprayed her with aerosol brake fluid and lit her on fire Wednesday evening, the Seward County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

Investigators believe Jeremy Koch, 37, started the fire following an argument with the woman at a rural Milford home shortly before 6 p.m., according to a news release.

The woman was able to remove some clothing but still suffered severe burns and was taken to an area hospital, the release said.

She is expected to survive her injuries.

Koch was arrested on suspicion of first-degree domestic assault, third-degree arson and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

He remained in Seward County jail Friday on $500,000 bond.
