A Seward man has gone to prison for embezzling more than $95,000 from the Cornhusker Shooting Stars youth basketball program.

Lancaster County District Judge Andrew Jacobsen sentenced Levi East, 38, to two to four years for felony theft.

East pleaded no contest to the charge last month.

In court records, Lincoln police said East used the group's credit cards and a bank debit card for unauthorized personal expenses that added up to $95,839.80 while he was employed by Lesoing's Inc. as an office manager and as assistant director of the youth program.

"Levi's theft and deceit has negatively impacted the Cornhusker Shooting Stars, my business, and my family," said Dan Lesoing, East's victim. "I need to focus on gaining back what he has taken away in terms of money and trust in others."
