Police are hunting for a 22-year-old Lincoln man who allegedly stabbed another man several times early Monday in an argument over a woman.

Police got a 911 call just after midnight on Monday about a stabbing at the Luxury Inn & Suites, 2940 N.W. 12th St., Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said.

Officers found that someone had taken 29-year-old Chevis J. Grier Lincoln to Bryan West Campus with several life-threatening stab wounds to the abdomen, Beggs said.

Doctors rushed Grier into surgery, and he remained in critical condition Monday morning, he said.

A nursing supervisor at Bryan West said she didn’t have information about Grier’s condition Monday afternoon.

Capt. Danny Reitan on Monday night said police hadn’t found the 22-year-old they think stabbed Grier.

Beggs declined to release the name of the suspect. He said he didn’t know if police had found the knife.
