Lincoln police have arrested two suspects they believe are connected to the disappearance of packages from outside local homes.

At approximately 4 p.m. Monday, officers received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle driving slowly in the 7400 block of Helen Witt Drive. The caller said a passenger in the vehicle jumped out and grabbed packages from doorsteps before returning to the vehicle.

After a pursuit, officers found the vehicle. The driver and passenger had been discarding packages in a nearby dumpster, and there were more packages in the vehicle. Additional packages and items were found at the suspects' home.

Police arrested Joel S. Hubka, 19, and Matthew T. Krahmer, 19. Hubka was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and theft of a felony amount. Krahmer was arrested for theft.

Police said they believe the incident may be connected to other reports of packages being taken and said individuals who have had missing packages and have contacted sellers about the disappearance should call 402-441-6000 to see if LPD has their package or items.
