No one was injured after a man fired a gun through the doorway of a northeast Lincoln apartment building following a fight at a bar hours earlier on Sunday, police say.
Police arrested Salvador Orozco, 29, on suspicion of multiple felonies in connection with the incidents that began at La Cabaña, a bar and grill at 3223 Cornhusker Highway, Officer Angela Sands said.
Around 2 a.m. Sunday, a 25-year-old man was punched in the face by Orozco because he talked to Orozco's girlfriend, Sands said.
When officers arrived, witnesses were uncooperative, the 25-year-old man didn't want to press charges, and Orozco had left the scene, she said.
Just before 3:45 a.m., Orozco went to an apartment at 3636 N. 52nd St. and knocked on the door, she said.
The three men inside opened the door then tried to close it quickly after seeing Orozco, who pushed on the door and stuck the barrel of his .22-caliber revolver into the apartment and fired several shots, Sands said.
After a struggle in the doorway, the men disarmed Orozco and held him down in the hallway until police arrived, she said.
Orozco was taken to the Lancaster County jail on suspicion of three counts of attempted first-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and discharge a firearm at an occupied structure.
He was released from the Nebraska State Penitentiary on post-release supervision after serving three months there for illegally possessing brass knuckles, according to court and prison records.
