Lincoln police found a 25-year-old woman wanted on misdemeanor drug possession warrants hiding in a hollowed-out couch late Monday, according to court documents.

Officers went to find Cassie Shepherd at an apartment in the 1600 block of G Street around 11 p.m. after receiving a tip she was there, police say in an affidavit for her arrest.

They knocked on the door and said they were looking for Shepherd, but the people inside wouldn't open the door, the affidavit said.

Someone left 15 minutes later and confirmed to police she was inside, so officers forced entry, detained two men and called for Shepherd to come out, the affidavit said.

They ultimately found her in a couch in a bedroom, the affidavit said.

She was taken to jail on district court warrants for attempted possession of methamphetamine.

Shepherd absconded the treatment program she was being supervised under earlier this month, prompting a judge to issue the warrants.
