Lincoln police are looking for a stolen car they think might be connected to a string of vehicle break-ins overnight Tuesday.
Officer Chassidy Jackson-Goodwin said it started with a call at about 2 a.m. Wednesday to a neighborhood near 96th and Holdrege streets about an unconscious man lying on the sidewalk.
They didn’t find the man, but officers spotted an open garage in the 9900 block of Moonlight Drive, talked with the person who lived there and discovered multiple cabinets ajar, she said. Nothing was missing.
Jackson-Goodwin said police think it was connected to three other larcenies from parked vehicles in the area overnight that left a Jeep Wrangler, Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander with broken windows. All had been parked in driveways or on the street. A Kate Spade leather purse was taken from one.
She said they also think the same person stole a 2001 black Mazda CX-9 left unlocked with the keys in the center console from a driveway in the 1900 block of North 95th Street. The 35-year-old victim’s wallet also was inside.
