A man accused of strangling and raping a woman at her Lincoln home Saturday remained in jail on $1 million bond Wednesday.

Lancaster County prosecutors charged Jeffrey A. Green, 46, 5230 S. 40th St., on Tuesday with first-degree sexual assault, first-degree false imprisonment, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, robbery and strangulation.

A 29-year-old woman told police early Saturday that Green, who is an acquaintance of hers, came over shortly after midnight, sexually assaulted her, bound her and threatened to kill her if she left, investigators said in an affidavit for Green's arrest.

Once he left, she escaped and summoned help, police said. Officers found Green at a gas station in southwest Lincoln later Saturday, questioned him, then booked him in jail.

Green would need to post $100,000 bail to be released.
