A 72-year-old Lincoln man faces child sexual assault and child abuse charges after police say he raped a 12-year-old girl, according to court documents.
Jesse F. Bartels of 8105 Arrow Ridge Road was arrested Friday by Lincoln police.
In an affidavit for Bartels' arrest, police allege he sexually assaulted the girl, who knows him, between November 2017 and February 2018.
Prosecutors have charged Bartels with first-degree sexual assault of a child, third-degree sexual assault of a child and intentional child abuse, which is a felony.
Bartels appeared in Lancaster County Court on Monday, where a judge set his bond at $750,000 and ordered him not to contact the girl or anyone 16 years old or younger.
He remained in jail Tuesday.
