A woman walked into a Haymarket restaurant Sunday, asked the bartender to help her find "the stuff" and went to jail after employees found bags of meth in a booth, police said.

Lincoln police arrested Vanessa L. Hall, 28, of 2008 S. Eighth St., around 10:30 p.m. after staff at Old Chicago found more than 9 ounces of meth in a FedEx bag, according to an affidavit for her arrest.

Hall came into the restaurant near Ninth and P streets, sat at the bar and then had the bartender help her search for an item she was told by an incarcerated acquaintance was in a specific booth of the restaurant, police said.

The two searched but didn't find the item, and the bartender returned to work, police said in the affidavit.

Other staff then checked booths upstairs to ensure nothing illegal was hidden in the restaurant and discovered the meth, police said.

Hall has been charged with attempted possession with intent to deliver 140 grams or more of meth.

She has been released from jail on $15,000 bond.
