Incumbent Ken Svoboda and newcomers Robin Eschliman and Dan Marvin took the top three spots in a hotly-contested and often contentious race for city hall on Tuesday night, leaving the Lincoln City Council sharply divided along partisan lines. Meanwhile, Kathy Danek, Don Mayhew, Barbara Baier and Keith Prettyman won school board seats and a proposed city storm sewer improvement bond passed. Voter turnout: On Tuesday, voter turnout was 29.25 percent. Unofficial final results showed 42,242 of the city's 144,371 registered voters cast a ballot. Turnout was higher in the 2003 and 1999 elections, which included a mayoral race.
