The following is a rundown of family activities for the week of Nov. 3-9:

Friday

First Friday Family Night -- 5-7:30 p.m., Lincoln Children's Museum, 1420 P St. "Thanksgiving Extravaganza." Regular admission.

The Salvation Army Harvest Festival -- chicken noodle dinner, 5:30 p.m.; live auction, 6:30 p.m., Salvation Army, 2625 Potter St. Family friendly event with music by the Root Marm Chicken Farm Jug Band and a bake sale. Tickets available at door: $6/adults, $4/ages 4-12, ages 3 and younger/free. All proceeds benefit programs of Salvation Army.

Parents Night Out -- 6-9 p.m., Lincoln Children's Museum. Leave your children with museum staff to enjoy special activities. For ages 3-10. Drop-off begins at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday

Bilingual English-Spanish story time -- 10-11 a.m., Indigo Bridge Books, 701 P St.

Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch -- 1-7 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Camp Fontanelle, 9677 Country Road 3, Fontanelle (off Highway 91). $5/ages 3-11, $7/ages 12 and older and ages 2 and younger are free. Additional charge for zipline and laser tag. Concessions available for purchase.

Sunday

Dia de Los Muertos event -- 1-7 p.m., venues throughout Lincoln. Begins at 1 p.m. with mayor's proclamation on north steps of Nebraska State Capitol and activities conclude from 5-7 p.m. at UNL Student Union, 1400 R St. Activities during day at Nebraska History Museum, 131 Centennial Mall North; Lincoln Children's Museum, 1420 P St. and Bennett Martin Public Library, 136 S. 14th St. Free.

Monday

Library storytimes -- Baby: 10 a.m., Gere Branch; 10:35 a.m., Eiseley Branch. Toddler: 10:30 a.m. Anderson Branch. Preschool: 6:30 p.m. Gere Branch.

Tuesday

Children's storytime -- 10-11 a.m., Indigo Bridge Books, 701 P St. Book: "Pumpkin Soup."

Wednesday

Shows and exhibits

Planetarium astronomy shows -- "Into the Deep" 11 a.m. Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays. "The Dark Matter Mystery Exploring a Cosmic Secret" noon Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays shows begin Sunday through Nov. 26. University of Nebraska Museum of Natural History, Mueller Planetarium, Morrill Hall, south of 14th and Vine streets. 402-472-2641. Planetarium closed on UNL home football game days.

Hyde Observatory shows -- 8-11 p.m. Saturdays, Hyde Observatory, Holmes Lake. Free. Reservations available for Monday-Thursday nights. 402-441-7094.
