“Is Buddhism Stronger Than Racism?” will be the subject of a Friday talk by Harmut Sagolla, a longtime student of Gelek Rimpoche.
Rimpoche, the founder and spiritual director of Jewel Heart, an international Tibetan Buddhist organization with a chapter in Lincoln, died earlier this year. Sagolla has studied with Rimpoche since 1984, transcribed and edited his teachings for 15 years and now works at the Jewel Heart international offices, developing and presenting programming and meditation classes.
His talk will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at The Bay, 2005 Y St.
Sagolla will present a day-long workshop titled “The Nature of Mind” on Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Chateau, 3100 S. 72nd St.
The events are free of charge with a $10 suggested donation for the Friday talk and a $30 suggested donation for the Saturday workshop.
