Robert Lee Forney, 86, of Lincoln, passed away September 10, 2017. Bob was born on November 22, 1930, in Lincoln to Harry and Rena (Walker) Forney. He graduated from College View High School. Bob and his wife, Inez, lived just north of Hickman for 49 years, until moving into Lincoln in 2008. Bob worked for Lancaster County where he was a sign man and striper. He made and set up many signs in the county in addition to painting the lines on the roads. He was also a licensed arborist for many years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Inez; two daughters, Nancy (husband, LeRoy) Hock and Lynda (husband, Mitch) Ryder; grandchildren, Chellona (husband, Ken) VerMaas, LeeAnn (husband, Brian) Schwabauer, Tanya (husband, Robbie) Evans; great-grandchildren, Maycie Schwabauer, Kenadi VerMaas, Delaney VerMaas, Cole, Payton, Jake and Kade Evans; sister, Gertie Mae Carr. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Elizabeth; brother, Oren Forney; and sister, Jacqueline Goldsmith.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 18, at College View Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 4801 Prescott, Lincoln. Burial will be in the College View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, with the family present from 5-7 p.m., all at Butherus Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St. Memorials are suggested to the family. www.bmlfh.com.
