Robert J. Wedner Sr., 94, Lincoln, died Thursday (9/23/04). Born, Humboldt (1/17/10). After graduating from high school in the 1920s, he moved to Lincoln with $100 in his pocket to attend the University of Nebraska. He retired in 1973 after 42 years as an engineer with the state Department of Roads, taking time off during World War II to serve as a major in the U.S. Army. Member: Westminster Presbyterian Church; VFW; American Legion; DAV as past commander of Nebraska; Masonic Lodge 54; Scottish Rite, all over 50 years; past patron of Easter Star 271.
