Everett Lee Shirk, 87, of Lincoln, passed away December 5, 2017. Born in Quenemo, Kansas, to Alonzo and Flossie (Johnson) Shirk. He attended high school in Smith Center, Kansas. Everett was a Korean War Army veteran. Worked for Associates Financial for 20 years and then for FirsTier Bank before it was purchased by US Bank. Retired from US Bank as vice president of Indirect Lending in 1996 after 20 years of service.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Lincoln and Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Sun Lakes, Arizona. Member of Lincoln East Rotary Club. He loved going to Nebraska football and basketball games, golfing, getting together with family and spending time with his wife, Kay, at their winter home in Sun Lakes, Arizona.
Preceded in death by brothers Dale, Wayne, Harold Dean and sister Ermyl Lawrence. First wife, Fredonna (Franklin) Shirk, second wife, Kathleen (Matuschka) Shirk and granddaughter Bethany Hesman. Survived by sister Shirley Lingbloom of Phillipsburg, Kansas; children, Stan (Jean) Shirk of Omaha, Lamont (Pam) Shirk of Norton, Kansas, Cherie (Marvin) Buysman of Lincoln, Debbie (Todd) Beam of Lincoln and Stacey (Joe) Hesman of Lee's Summit, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, at Christ Lutheran Church, 4325 Sumner St., Lincoln. Burial to follow at Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Butherus Maser and Love, 4040 A St., Lincoln.
