Dawson Cox, 15, of Lincoln, lost his courageous battle with leukemia on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013. Parents are Colleen Cox and Ron Cox of Lincoln. Student at Lincoln Southwest High School, attended Scott Middle School and Ruth Hill Elementary. Dawson always had a smile and never knew a stranger, even throughout his battle with leukemia.

Survivors include mother, Colleen Cox; father, Ron Cox; sisters, Lindsay Kempkes, Lyndsey (Kelsey) Hiatt, Nessa, and Stevie; nephew, Henry Kempkes-Jisa; foster brother, Zach; foster sisters, Hannah and Haley; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dawson was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 2325 S. 24th Street, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 4 -8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Lincoln Family Funeral Care, 5844 Fremont Street and one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to C.S.
