Jack A. Beekley, 88, Dorchester, died Thursday (11/3/11) in Friend. Born 10/9/1923, Milford, 1941 graduate Dorchester Public School, long-time farmer. Former employee Lauhoff Grain Company (Crete Mills), Crete, Missouri Pacific, and Burlington Northern Railroads. Served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Member: Dorchester United Methodist Church, Seward County NFO, August-Vanek American Legion Post #264, Izaak Walton League, VFW Crete, Grain Millers Union, served on the Dorchester Schooln and Village Boards.

Survived by wife, Dorothy; daughters, Connie LeMonde, Catherine Beekley, both of Lincoln, Marcia Beekley, Dorchester; son, Kirk Beekley, Crete; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter, Christine; son, Mark, and parents.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday (11/8/11) Dorchester United Methodist Church, Rev. Tim and Ginny Adams. Military services, Dorchester American Legion Post #264. Visitation, 1-9 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Friend, with family receiving relatives and friends Sunday, 7-9 p.m. at funeral home. Food and fellowship reception following services at church. Cremation, inurnment, later date, Dorchester Cemetery.
