Feb. 23 – Russ’s Wine and Food Experience
This 10th annual event offers an opportunity to try an international selection of wines at Embassy Suites, 1040 P St., 5-8 p.m. Foodies can sample fine cheeses, gourmet desserts, beef, seafood and many unique items. Approximately 90 booths will fill the main ballroom. In addition, Reserve Room guests (4-8 p.m.) will enjoy an exclusive selection of reserve wines and a buffet. Feb. 24 – Team Jack Gala
This fifth annual event features speaker Dick Vermeil, Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL coach of the year, at Embassy Suites, 1040 P St. With a goal to raise funds for pediatric brain cancer research, Vermeil will be joined by elite former Huskers and current NFL players, including the Huskers’ own Rex Burkhead and many more. March 9 – Lincoln Heart Ball
The Heart Ball promises to be an engaging evening of fun and passion, bringing community and philanthropic leaders together for the American Heart Association. Last year, the Heart Ball campaign raised just over $71 million nationwide, allowing the AHA to fund life-saving research and prevention programs in Lincoln and across the U.S. The evening begins with cocktails and a silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. dinner and program at Embassy Suites, 1040 P St. A live auction starts at 8 p.m. and a Pulse Party at 9 p.m. Tickets: ahalincoln.ejoinme.org.
March 10 – Run for the Bridges
This trail run raises funds to build and replace bridges in Wilderness Park, 8:30 a.m., Wilderness Park, First and Park streets. Includes half marathon, 10K and 1.8-mile runs. Details/tickets: www.runforthebridges.com.
March 22 – Feeding the Soul of the City
Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach’s 13th annual “Feeding the Soul of the City” dinner and fundraising event will be at the Cornhusker Marriott, 333 S. 13th St. Social hour and silent auction start at 5:30 p.m., and the dinner and program begin at 6:30 p.m. Compassion in Action awards will be presented to an individual and group who exemplify dedication to Matt Talbot’s mission.
