The Lutheran Education Foundation (LEF) hosted the 23rd annual Lincoln Lutheran Gala and Dinner Auction March 23 at Embassy Suites. The event raised over $115,000 through a silent and live auction to support the Christian Education of current and future students.

Scott Ernstmeyer presented the 2018 Shield of Faith Award to Mark and Kathie Divine, and the 2018 Founders Award to Randy and Charlene Wilcox. The two awards recognize the many ways these individuals have worked to enhance the ministry of Lincoln Lutheran and Lutheran Education to the Lincoln community.

“It is truly a humbling experience to see over 400 guests attend the Gala and make a difference in the lives of young men and women today, tomorrow and forever,” said Lloyd Wagnitz, director of ministry advancement. “The event brings people together in generous support of students and for an evening of fun, fellowship and family.”

“Every year it is humbling to witness the support for Lincoln Lutheran and the Lutheran Elementary schools through the guests, volunteers and students," said Derek Trutna, Gala Committee chair. "A big thank you to all those who have supported this event and the Lutheran Schools of Lincoln throughout the years. We look forward to building on this year’s success and can’t wait for an exciting Gala in 2019.”

Next year's Gala is scheduled for March 22, 2019.
