Girl Scouts’ signature artVenture program has helped thousands of Nebraska girls find their creative voice, express themselves and develop their leadership potential.

For the past several months, girls throughout the Lincoln area worked side-by-side with local, professional artists creating works of art that will be sold alongside artist-submitted works on April 22 at the Downtown Embassy Suites. The event, for guests 21 and older, is a silent auction with online bidding and a strolling reception featuring nine craft beer and cookie pairings, courtesy of Moran’s Liquor Works.

Proceeds benefit Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska and support life-changing Girl Scout programming in the community.

The girls and their professional artist-mentors worked in teams, collaborating on ideas and creating art in various mediums. The hands-on experience, often in artists’ studios, allowed girls to take on new challenges and develop creative skills. They also discovered the importance of philanthropic giving, knowing that their art will generate support for the Nebraska Girl Scout council.
