Don Campbell at Standing Bear sculpture unveiling

The 10-foot Chief Standing Bear Memorial sculpture, sponsored by Arts Benefactor Award winner Donald Campbell (smiling at left during the Oct. 15 sculpture unveiling ceremony), is one of many improvements made to Centennial Mall, for which the Nebraska Capitol Environs Commission is being recognized. Both Campbell and the Commission will be honored as part of the 40th Mayor’s Arts Awards on May 1. See related Chief Standing Bear maquettes story on page 20.
