The Steve Miller Band and Peter Frampton will play Pinewood Bowl Aug. 2.
The Lincoln stop is one 40 dates on the classic rockers' 2018 tour, continuing a summer tradition of pairing Miller and Frampton for sold-out concerts in mid-sized venues.
The Steve Miller Band last played Lincoln at a Nebraska State Fair concert at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Miller is the only original member of the band that was formed in 1966 as the Steve Miller Blues Band and had a string of 70s hits, including “Fly Like an Eagle,” “The Joker,” “Take The Money and Run” and “Rock ‘n Me.”
Frampton, who fronted the English band Humble Pie, had a massive international hit with his 1976 album “Frampton Comes Alive,” which sold 8 million copies. He’s known for classic rock radio staples such as “Show Me The Way,” “Baby I Love Your Way” and “Do You Feel Like I Do.”
It is believed that the August concert will be Frampton's Lincoln debut.
The August show will include sets by the Steve Miller Band, Frampton and his band. Miller will join Frampton on-stage mid set for what the tour announcement calls “some of the most compelling jamming of the season."
Tickets for the Miller/Frampton show are $46 to $175 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets will be available at the Pinnacle Bank Arena ticket office, ticketmaster.com and by phone at 800-745-3000.
