NET Radio (KUCV 91.1 FM) will be off the air until Wednesday or Thursday, according to manager Nancy Finken.
A damaged transmission line silenced the station around 5 a.m. Monday.
Crews were dispatched to the tower where NET Radio leases space from Three Eagles Communications.
Three Eagles active rock station The Blaze (KIBZ 104.1 FM) went off the air for most of the day Monday to allow NET Radio’s tower crew to assess damage.
“We’ve ordered the parts we need to fix the problem, but we don’t know how quickly we can get back on the air,” Finken said. “We’re hoping to get back, at least at low power, sometime Wednesday or Thursday.”
The Blaze was expected to return to the air Monday night, but will shut down again when crews return to fix NET Radio’s transmission, according to Three Eagles general manager Jim Keck.
In the meantime, listeners can hear NET Radio programming by going to netNebraska.org/radio and clicking on the “Listen Now” button in the left column.
The Blaze also is available online at www.kibz.com.
All that is needed is access to the Internet and a free Windows Media Player program.
