Salsarita’s Fresh Mexican Grill will open Feb. 15 at 2900 Copper Ridge, Suite 100, which is in the Wilderness Hills Shopping Center at 27th Street and Yankee Hill Road.

The chain is known for its flame-grilled meat, house-made chips and fresh salsa.

The restaurant is owned by Ryan Funke, who also has a hand in Nebraska’s Five Guys Burgers & Fries, and Lincoln’s Doughnut Hole, Gate 25 and Yes Chef Catering.

Salsarita’s will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and feature a drive-thru. Its phone number is 531-500-5813.

I’ll have more on the new fast-casual Mexican restaurant once it’s up and running.

Chocolate Lover's Fantasy

Tickets are on sale for the 32nd annual Chocolate Lover's Fantasy, which will run from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 9 in a new location, Embassy Suites, 1040 P St. Last year’s event was at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

A fundraiser for the Haymarket district, the event features professional and local chefs who create chocolate goodies.

Participating this year are Lazlo’s, Java Depot, The Normandy, Rita’s Italian Ice & Custard, Chocolates by Adam, Bethany Café, Chez Hay, LeadBelly, Nama Choco, City of Lincoln, Ayars & Ayars, The Mill, Fuehrer’s Cheespred, Gelato to Go, Lulubee Chocolates and Embassy Suites.

Tickets are $35 and available at the door or in advance at lincolnhaymarket.org or at these Haymarket businesses: Burlington Antiques, From Nebraska Gift Shop, Ten Thousand Villages, KD Designs and The Mill.

Wine and Food Experience

The 10th annual Russ’s Market Wine and Food Experience will provide hardcore wine enthusiasts with a “cellar room” option on Feb. 23 at Embassy Suites.

Cellar room tickets are $125 and include entrance to the reserve room, main ballroom and additional exclusive wines and heavy appetizers from 4 to 8 p.m.

Reserve room tickets are $70 in advance and $80 at the door and include admission to the reserve room, featuring reserve wines and a buffet and the main ballroom from 4 to 8 p.m.

General admission tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door and include admission to the main ballroom, which features multiple wine and food vendors from 5 to 8 p.m.

Advance tickets are available at russmarket.com or at Russ’s Market locations. Proceeds benefit the Lincoln Community Playhouse.

‘Break at the Barracks’

John J’s Chow Hall, the restaurant at Graduate Lincoln, will host “Winter Break at the Barracks,” a cocktail social featuring a selection of appetizers and petite cocktails from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 28.

Guests will travel from station to station sampling pairings, such as shoyu tofu paired with a Corn N Oil cocktail (dark rum, falernum, bitters) and pineapple upside down cake paired with a Black Jack cocktail (coffee liqueur, sweet vermouth, orange, bitters).
