If you're looking to find balance between your personal life and your career, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place than Nebraska.

Personal finance website SmartAsset ranked Lincoln No. 2 and Omaha No. 3 on its list of "Cities with the Best Work-Life Balance."

Both cities scored well for having a relatively short commute time (18.9 minutes), while Lincoln also received high rankings for its low unemployment rate and relatively low housing costs.

Madison, Wisconsin, topped the list, with Lubbock, Texas, coming in fourth and Columbus, Ohio, fifth.
