Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp., U.S.A., announced the appointment of Yoshihiro Yamazaki as president.
The company has a consumer products manufacturing plant and a railroad car plant in Lincoln and an engine plant in Maryville, Mo.
Yamazaki has lived in Lincoln since last April and has been a general manager. Before coming to Lincoln, Yamazaki lived in Akashi, Japan, in the Hyogo Prefecture with his wife, Asako, and son, Daiki, who will be attending college in Japan beginning in April.
Yamazaki has worked for Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. in Japan for 31 years.
His background includes expertise in Kawasaki’s engineering, production, planning, engine production department and consumer products supply chain promoting departments.
Yamazaki is replacing Matsuhiro Asano, who has returned to Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan after serving in Lincoln for four years.
"Mr. Yamazaki is looking forward to spending time riding his motorcycle while living in Nebraska," the company said in a news release.
Kawasaki has 1,300 employees at the Lincoln location and 767 employees at Maryville.
