Glenn's CARSTAR Body Shop at 21st and K streets is planning to expand.
The Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commission on Wednesday approved a zoning change and special permit to allow the business to expand to the west on an undeveloped section of its lot.
Plans call for an addition to the building as well as added parking and storage space for vehicles being repaired.
The business has been in Lincoln for more than 50 years and built the location at 21st and K streets in 2007 after being forced out of its longtime location at 21st and P streets because of the city's Antelope Valley flood-control project.
Mark Hunzeker, an attorney representing the business, said it has outgrown its building and needs to expand.
Hunzeker said Glenn's currently has 12 employees and likely will grow to 16 once the expansion is done.
