A&R Skate Center at 40th and Old Cheny Road is closing its doors.
The owners of the business could not be reached, but an employee who didn't want to be quoted by name said Friday was A&R's last day.
The business ran an advertisement this week in the Journal Star saying it would be having a going-out-of-business sale today (Saturday) and Sunday.
A&R moved to 40th and Old Cheney in March 2006, transforming the former World Gym space into a skating rink. The business had previously been at 710 Hill St. but lost its lease there in October 2005, closing temporarily while it searched for a new home.
A&R's closing will leave Skate Zone, 300 N. 48th St, as the city's only roller skating rink.
