Hy-Vee Market Cafe

Hy-Vee is planning more restaurants at its Lincoln stores, like the one shown here at the Hy-Vee at 5020 N. 27th St., which opened in 2015.

When I reported last month on Hy-Vee's plans to put restaurants serving alcohol in more of its stores, I noted that the grocery chain had filed liquor license applications for restaurants in three of the four Lincoln locations that don't currently have one.

Hy-Vee now has filed an application for the fourth location, at 70th Street and Pioneers Boulevard, so it looks as though that location will be getting a restaurant as well.

Hy-Vee has not offered any updates on when the restaurants will open, and the company did not return an email sent on Monday seeking further comment.

* According to a building permit filed Monday, the former Bank of the West branch at 2710 Dan Ave., a few blocks south of the intersection of 27th and Superior streets, will become a Popeyes restaurant.

Converting a bank space to a restaurant space is not cheap, as evidenced by the $180,000 building permit.

* A new Asian restaurant called Lan House opened last month in the former Dickey's Barbecue space downtown at 1226 P St.
