2 people who cheated Keno receive probation
By The Associated Press
BEATRICE — Two of the three people convicted of trying to cheat at Keno games in Blue Springs have been sentenced to four years probation.
At Friday’s hearing, Gage County District Judge Paul Korslund also ordered Robert Roberts and Jana Fletcher to each pay $4,000 restitution to the operator of Blue Springs Keno.
The restitution ordered was higher than the amount Roberts and Fletcher agreed to pay as part of a plea agreement.
Sentencing for a third person convicted in the scheme, Jamie Phipps, is scheduled for Nov. 7.
They were all convicted of trying to cheat a lottery device and violating Nebraska’s Lottery Act.
