2 ½ stars
Cool California indie rock band, meet your sophomore slump.
Actually, this follow-up to the band’s stellar debut, “Robbers & Cowards,” is OK, if a little too low-key for a usually rousing band. It’s a well-written, atmospheric record, but it’s just soooo mopey.
The Cold War Kids use to make me dance; this record makes me feel like sulking.
