A man is accused of growing marijuana in an apartment in which he was unlawfully residing.

Police were called to a disturbance at 1747 S. 15th St., No. 4, just before 9 p.m. Wednesday when a man called to say someone was trying to break into his apartment, said Officer Katie Flood.

When police arrived, they learned the person trying to get into the apartment was actually the apartment manager, Flood said. The apartment was supposed to be vacant, but someone had allegedly changed the locks and was occupying it.

Police found 52.2 ounces of marijuana and equipment used to grow marijuana in the apartment, as well as $3,439 cash in a backpack, Flood said.

Justin Fisher, 25, was arrested and jailed on suspicion of marijuana possession with intent to deliver, Flood said.
