Three arrested after Friday night assault
A fight broke out Friday night on the 1000 block of South 11th Street, leading to the arrest of three Lincoln men, according to Lincoln police.
A 17-year-old man stood on his porch at about 6:20 p.m. when a 20-year-old approached him. The two, who police say know each other, became involved in a verbal disagreement when the 20-year-old reached into his pocket, drawing out a knife to stab the 17-year-old.
The father of the 17-year-old, a 37-year-old Lincoln man, came out of the family home. He hit the 20-year-old with a wooden clothing rod.
Capt. Dennis Duckworth said police arrested all three Friday night — the 20- and 37-year-old for second-degree assault and the 17-year-old for misdemeanor assault.
As of Saturday morning, all three men remained in police custody. None sustained serious injuries from the fight.
