BURWELL — The death of a 14-year-old girl whose body was pulled from a reservoir in north-central Nebraska has been ruled a drowning.

Emergency management officials said the body of Dakota Moler was pulled from the Calamus Reservoir around 8 o’clock Monday night.

The Battle Creek teen was reported missing in the water Sunday afternoon near the Homestead Knolls Campground at the southeast end of the reservoir.

Dive teams searched for the girl until dark Sunday and began anew at dawn Monday.

Alma Beland, a spokeswoman for Region 26 Emergency Management, confirmed Tuesday the girl had drowned. No autopsy was planned.

" My condolences to this young girl's family. I was at Calamus this weekend when this tragic event took place. This community, along with the Dive team from Kearney, put endless hours in trying to find this young lady. The wind and heat had to take such a toll on these people, yet they continued on. They need to be commended. An outstanding group of people. I wish the outcome were different. God give this family the strength they need to get through this tragic time in their lives. "
