Approximately 150 people are needed to fill the full-time and part-time jobs created when Kohl’s Department Stores opens its  new Lincoln store in October, according to a public relations agency working for the retailer.     The store is planned for the Wilderness Hills center at 27th and Yankee Hill Rd.

A job fair is scheduled for interested applicants at the Embassy Suites in downtown Lincoln, Aug. 10– 4, according to CKPR, a Chicago agency.

Applicants should visit www.kohlscareers.com or call 877-639-5645 to begin the application process, the agency said.

Kohl’s has another store at 84th and O streets.

" not to be a big negative nellie on this issue. its great to see lincoln growing and that a company is adding a new store and 150 jobs. will these jobs pay enough for a family to be able to sustain themselves on the wage they earn there at kohls? my guess is there will only be a handful of jobs there that pay above minimum wage. lincoln needs to be bringing in the employers that pay the big bucks. "

" Some people can only see the negative. Honestly, be happy there are some new jobs opening up. "

" Kohl's is an excellent place to work - and ALL the jobs there pay more than minimum wage. It's great for high school and college students who work part time and also retirees. If "me" has all the answers - maybe they should be finding out those companies that "pay the big bucks" and bring them to Lincoln. "

" Can someone please explain how "Lincoln" can bring in employers that pay the big bucks? How can "Lincoln" do this, as so many of you state? In other words, define "Lincoln." Is it the city of "Lincoln"? The "Lincoln" Chamber of Commerce? The "Lincoln" Independent Business Association? Perhaps the University of Nebraska - "Lincoln"?

I see this brought up time and time again, but no one ever has any ideas other than "Lincoln needs to bring in employers that pay the big bucks." Please, please, please, tell me and 249,000 other residents who exactly "Lincoln" is! "
