Skydiving event to raise funds for cancer
The American Cancer Society is partnering with the Lincoln Sport Parachute Club for a unique fundraising event.
The club is offering a special offer to “live life to the fullest” — a tandem skydive — with a portion of the proceeds designated to go to the American Cancer Society.
Based in Weeping Water, the parachute club has been donating to the society in various ways for several years. The largest way to donate is through the “Redemption Skydiving Boogie,” which is being held at the Plattsmouth Municipal Airport Thursday through Sunday.
At the event, club members will bring in a large plane that can handle more skydivers and achieve more altitude than the normal jump planes in Nebraska. This allows first-time skydivers making a tandem jump to experience a longer and more exciting skydive from 13,000 feet above the ground.
