A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting early Sunday.

Two men were shot, and one of them also stabbed, early Sunday inside an apartment on the 4300 block of Cornhusker Highway. Police believe the incident may have been drug related, said Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood.

Robert Rafael Reynozo was arrested and jailed later Sunday on suspicion of criminal conspiracy,  Class III felony, Flood said.

Police do not believe Reynozo was the shooter, but they say he was part of a group of 16 to 19 people who showed up at the apartment early Sunday and immediately began firing shots inside. Several people there scattered and ran.

More arrests likely are forthcoming, Flood said.

A 22-year-old was in serious condition after being stabbed in the right side of his face and shot in the forearm, chin and near his spinal cord. The hospital did not have release any information about him Monday morning.

Police were called to the apartment at 3:35 a.m. Sunday and found the 22-year-old outside on the ground with knives near his head and under his stomach. He had three gunshot wounds, and he was taken by ambulance to BryanLGH West, Flood said.

A 21-year-old man who was shot in the shoulder later showed up at the hospital, where he was treated and released, Flood said.

Officers executed two search warrants in connection with the case, Capt. David Beggs said on Sunday, but Beggs would not say where they searched or what was found.
