Police offer tips in wake of SUV incidents
Lincoln Police are still investigating two incidents in which men in SUVs with guns followed women this weekend.
Officer Katie Flood offered several tips for people who think they are being followed:
* Call police right away. In one of the incidents, a woman who was followed in the area of 70th Street and Glynoaks Drive first called a friend and waited 45 minutes before calling police, Flood said.
* Don’t go home. “You don’t want these people to know where you live,” Flood said.
* If possible, drive to a well-lit, populated area. Some convenience stores and drive-thru restaurants are open 24 hours.
* Try to get a vehicle description and license plate number.
Though the two incidents from this weekend were similar, police do not believe they are related, Flood said.
