" Why is Devon Reick not on an All-State team when she made 2nd team Super State? "

" KK had a good season. She playes a great short stop and hit good the first half of the season then kind of died on the hitting. Was suprised that she didnt hit right handed more. Guess it wasnt her year. "

" How are these lists decided anyway? Curious how kids get nominated for positions they dont play AND the DP or utility position is used for kids that AREN'T utility or DP but the coaches use this to nominate a player that would'nt get recognition at their regular skilled position aka catchers. Politics as usual good ball players trumped by those that manipulate the system. My hat goes off to all the coaches that know how to use the system to get their summer team players recognition even though they go to Nationals and go 2 and Q! Great job!!! "

" Devin Choate from Beatrice and Danae Disney from Southern deserve to be on this team. Who makes these lists up anyway? "

SOFTBALLFANTOO wrote on October 30, 2007 8:46 pm:
" I believe that if you look at the Honorable Mention lists you will find both Devin Choate and Danae Disney on the lists. So they did make the list---just not the top team in their respective classes. And Devin did make the Omaha World Herald Class B 2nd Team. And by the way if you read the attached article to the lists--it says that the players on chosen based on coaches voting and sportswriter observations. "

" Then explain why some of the stat LEADERS from all classes only made honorable mention. It doesn't matter what you do all season--only districts and state and if your team doesn't make it to state you get left out. I agree it's bull! "

SBall Parent wrote on November 5, 2007 9:00 am:
" I hope all parents get a chance to know how their kids impact those around them. My daughter attended a Wayne State College camp over the past weekend and one WSC softball player really blew me away. This young woman came up to my "nervous nellie" and made her feel right at home with all the other high end players. This young lady must be one of the smallest players on the WSC squad but she was HUGE in my daughters eyes. She checked on my daughter throughout the camp and made sure she was having a ball. The camp sure helped my daughter see that anything is possibe if you work hard. This young WSC softball player proved to my small town daughter, that you can play at a high level with heart and determination - regardless of the size of your school or your physical makeup!! Thanks Sara. "

" I would have to echo sball parent's comments. My daughter has participated in Wildcat camps this year and Coach Unger has some girls (oops, young women) who love the game! The only way to explain it is "they have passion". It sure rubbed off on my little one! And she now thinks she can play varsity and wants to go to college to play ball, even though we are from a small school - all thanks to some young role models!! Thank you Wildcats. "
