Team (record)  Pvs.

  1. Millard West (15-3) 1

  2. Omaha South (14-2) 3

  3. Omaha Westside (12-4) 4

  4. Lincoln Southwest (11-2) 5

  5. Kearney (14-2) 6

  6. Millard South (12-4) 7

  7. Creighton Prep (11-4) 2

  8. Lincoln East (8-5) 10

  9. Millard North (9-6) 8

10. Columbus (11-3) -

Contenders: Lincoln North Star, Lincoln Southeast, North Platte, Omaha Burke.

Comments: Creighton Prep makes the biggest move following losses to Millard South and Omaha Skutt. Lincoln Southeast has lost four of its past five games and drops from the rankings, making room for Columbus. Southeast is a No. 1 seed for districts, because they had an 8-2 record when the pairings were announced last week.

Worth noting: Kearney junior Josh Gable has scored a school-record 25 goals this season. The Class A record for goals in a season is 33. ... Lincoln Southwest won the Lincoln Public Schools championship for the first time in school history.

Tough districts: A-5 (includes Omaha South and Millard South); A-6 (includes Lincoln Southwest and Lincoln East); A-7 (includes Columbus, North Platte and Kearney).

CLASS B BOYS

  5. Elkhorn (10-4) 5

  6. Columbus Scotus (9-6) 6

  8. Gretna (8-4) 7

  9. Schuyler (11-4) 8

10. Columbus Lakeview (10-4) 9

Contenders: Northwest, Scottsbluff.

Comments: Omaha Skutt beat South Sioux City for the River Cities Conference title. It was Skutt’s second victory against South Sioux City this season. Waverly avenged a loss to Gretna, and has won seven straight.

Worth noting: The Class B boys state champion has been undefeated twice in 11 seasons.

Tough districts: B-4 (includes South Sioux City, Elkhorn and Schuyler); B-5 (includes Columbus Scotus, Columbus Lakeview and Northwest).

Contender: North Platte, Papillion-La Vista South.

Comments: Millard North and Millard West exchange the top spot. Millard North and Millard West haven’t played since the first game of the season, with Millard North winning that game 3-0. Lincoln Southeast moves back up with wins against Millard South and Millard West on the last day of the regular season.

Worth noting: Lincoln Southwest won the Lincoln Public Schools championship.

  9. Hastings (11-3) -

10. Kearney Catholic (10-4) 10

Contender: Norris, Schuyler.

Comments: Things were more exciting this week, with Columbus Scotus moving up and Schuyler moving out. The big game of the week was No. 2 Elkhorn vs. No. 3 Gretna in the Eastern Midlands Conference championship game. Elkhorn, the defending state champion, won 5-1. Elkhorn’s losses came against Omaha Skutt and Omaha Westside.

Tough districts: B-3 (includes Omaha Skutt, Gretna and Omaha Mercy); B-5 (includes Hastings and Columbus Scotus).

" do you continue to rank Pius girls 4th? Their only losses were against #1,2 and 3 in class A. Gretna's losses were to Elkorn and Skutt but you out them above Pius? "
