HOLDREGE — Two dogs that attacked a woman, tearing off part of her ear, will be euthanized, Phelps County authorities said.

Sheriff Tom Nutt said the Holdrege woman was walking past a residence Wednesday evening when the pair of mixed heelers attacked her. The dog owner’s wife was also hurt when she tried to restrain the dogs.

The owner, Ronald Buettner, was cited for maintaining a dangerous animal.

" Oh, sure, kill the DOGS! If she had been attacked by two PEOPLE, they'd be given probation! "

" I agree Anya, I'm tired of hearing about dogs getting put down because A) their owners didn't raise them properly or B) some stupid kid was teasing it and probably got what it deserved.

There are no bad dogs, just ignorant people owning them. "
