CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Twenty-one soldiers and three UH-60 helicopters with the Wyoming Army National Guard have been ordered deployed to Afghanistan in October.

The order for C Company, 5-159 General Support Aviation Battalion is for a 12-month deployment. That includes two months of training at Fort Sill, Okla., and 10 months in Afghanistan.

The unit consists of soldiers from southeast Wyoming and parts of Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri.

The 21 soldiers will report to Cheyenne on Oct. 16. Current plans are to rotate soldiers and aircraft from the company to Afghanistan annually for the next three years.
