Toddler crashes car in Omaha
OMAHA — Omaha police say a 2-year-old boy is lucky to have escaped injury when he crawled into the family car, put it in gear and crashed into another car.
Officers say the crash happened Wednesday morning while the boy’s mother was washing clothes at a midtown laundry. The toddler was with other children who went outside to play, and police say the 2-year-old climbed into the driver’s seat and put the car in gear. The car rolled backward across the street, into a nearby parking lot and crashed into Robert Christian’s parked car. Christian says the runaway car just missed hitting him, brushing his pants before it slammed into his car.
Police did not ticket the boy’s mother, since the child was not left in the car.
